Salty Dog

Gin and grapefruit juice meet a lightly salted glass rim in this two-liquid highball. The salt is kept outside the glass rather than dissolved into the drink, letting each sip pick up a different amount.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml London dry gin
  • 90 ml Grapefruit juice
  • 1 g Fine salt, for optional glass rim

Instructions

  1. Lightly moisten the outer half-rim of a highball with a little grapefruit juice and dip it in fine salt.
  2. Add ice cubes and the measured gin.
  3. Pour in the grapefruit juice and stir gently, keeping loose salt outside the glass.
