Blue curaçao supplies orange flavor and color alongside rum, pineapple and lime. This rum-only published version is shaken rather than blended, so it is served as a liquid drink over fresh ice.

Ingredients

45 ml White rum
75 ml Pineapple juice, unsweetened
15 ml Blue curaçao liqueur
15 ml Fresh lime juice
15 ml Simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water by weight)
1 piece Pineapple piece, for garnish

Instructions

Combine the white rum, pineapple juice, unsweetened, blue curaçao liqueur, fresh lime juice and simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water by weight) in a shaker, then fill it with cubed ice.
Seal the shaker and shake briskly until thoroughly cold, about 10–12 seconds.
Strain into a chilled hurricane over fresh ice.
Finish with a pineapple wedge and serve promptly.
